All students must be at least 16 years of age and hold their KY learners permit. Students will be asks to present their permit on every drive lesson to ensure compliance. Needed equipment accommodations such as glasses, contacts, etc is also required while driving. Modern CDC guidance will be practiced for safe conditions while in the vehicle. Students must be able to speak and understand English for proper safe/clear communication while in the vehicle.
Our Instructors are experienced (30+ years of combined experience), patient and professional. We have both male and female instructors available to help meet our students comfortability. We are passionate in helping our students become confident, safe drivers for themselves, their loved ones and other drivers on the road.
All drive sessions are customized to meet our students needs. We will use a vehicle owned by Driver Education Academy that is outfitted with an extra brake, additional mirrors and exterior decals. Students are welcome to "double up" with other students as sought. Students will be asked to practice skills in-between drive sessions to help improve skills. All students will begin lesson one in a parking lot so we can build upon basic skills and progress as we master techniques to ensure safe operations on the road. Every student is different and there fore requires different amounts of instructions. We suggest committing to at least 2 full sessions, three hours total (1.5 hours and 1.5 hours) and simply evaluate skill at that point and determine next steps. Most typical students require 3-4 sessions in order to master ALL areas of driving safety (ie: parking, country roads, city driving, interstate, etc)
